Some events, such as underground meets or surface walks, can be liable to last-minute changes due to weather conditions, or the ability to gain permission for access/parking/etc.  Where possible we try to keep this diary up-to-date, so it is worth double-checking meet details here prior to setting out!

Mining Heritage Walk - The High Tor/Matlock Dale area

Meet 7.15pm Matlock Bath Railway Station car park (Pay & Display).

A short, circular walk, to look at the site of Riber Mine at Starkholmes, the Fern & Roman Caves on High Tor, Youd's Level (Ringing Rake Sough), the site of the suspension bridge over River Derwent, High Tor Grotto, Side Mine and Long Tor Grotto - all in Matlock Dale. Note: Paul plans to bring some old photos of Riber Mine (surface & underground) when in operation and also, surveys, etc of the various other mines mentioned.
Bring usual walking gear. Party size not limited - booking optional.

Walk is weather dependent. Optional drink afterwards at the Midland Hotel, Matlock Bath.
